Guidelines to Take Care of Diamond Jewelry

From early times, it is noticed that diamonds are the best friend of woman. It is the hardest stone occur with the hardness of 10 on Moh’s scale but irrespective of this the diamond jewelry can be damaged, scratched or chipped. This occurs due to the manufacturing defects of the jewelry or because of the improper use by the wearer.

The diamond jewelry can be prevented by taking some preventive measures in action. By following some steps you can avoid the spoilage of your diamond jewelry.

Some of the measures are:

1. We all know that the gems like diamond are set in the jewelry with the help of mountings and prongs and with the regular use of the jewelry like diamond jewelry, it is noticed that the prongs get loose and the diamond starts shaking. This may cause the falling of the precious stone. This can be prevented by taking the jewelry to the jeweler after some time interval to get it tightened.

2. You should not wear diamond jewelry while doing physical exercises as it may cause the diamonds to get scratched. So you should put out your diamond or any gem jewelry like diamond rings, bracelets etc. before doing exercises.

3. It should be avoided to wash all the jewelry in the hand basin as the gem or diamond may flow out of the diamond jewelry because of the heavy flow of tap water the diamond get loosened while cleaning the jewelry.

4. Do not wear more than one ring in a finger and avoid rubbing of the diamond ring with the stone of the other ring in the ad-joint finger. As it is seen that women’s are in the habit of wearing more than one finger in the hand which causes the scratching of the diamond with the other stone or the metal of the ring with the other one.

Rubbing of diamond with other stone or diamond can cause greater damage to the jewelry than the metal – metal rubbing.
